Walking Football Over 60s, Over 50s

Walking Football is a new format of football aimed at encouraging older adults to play again at a pace that suits them. This particular format engages an age group that isn’t normally associated with playing the game, and gives footballers over 50 the opportunity to rekindle their playing days and stay active!

The game comprises the same rules as standard football, except players are not permitted to run. As a result, the game relies less on physical attributes such as speed, power, and stamina, focusing more on accurate passing, good positional play, and strong tactical knowledge.

Walking Football is not played as you might see it in the Premier League either; it is very adaptable, can be played at any level of skill, and is open to men and women of all ages and abilities.

So, whether you’re looking for a social kickabout or to find your old competitive edge, we have something to suit you across the region.

Walking football offers many benefits, including:

  • Lower heart rate and blood pressure
  • Better mobility and weight loss
  • A chance to meet new individuals and groups
  • Increased self-confidence

Weekly sessions are based at Rushall Olympic FC Tuesday and Thursday 10 am – 11 am for over 60s and Shelfield Academy Monday evenings 7 pm – 8 pm for Over 50s

We play in the Birmingham County FA Walking Football league and The Walking Football Association National Cup
